The silicon carbide heating element rod is a high-temperature electric heating element made of high-purity green silicon carbide, carbon and the like by high-temperature silicidation. The silicon carbide content is above 98%, so it has substantially the same physical and chemical properties as silicon carbide, and other metals. SIC Heating element have these type: U type, W type, UL type and I type. Compared to electric heating elements, it has the following unique advantages:
1. Strong acid resistance, strong antioxidant capacity; good chemical stability.
2. The surface load density is larger than that of the metal electric heating element, the temperature rises quickly, and the thermal efficiency is high;
3. It is resistant to rapid heat and cold, and has a small coefficient of linear expansion;
4. High thermal conductivity;
5. High temperature and long life. In normal air atmosphere, the surface temperature of the rod can reach 1600 °C, and the continuous service life can reach 2000h or above.

Application
SIC Heating Elements rods are widely used in various electric kiln with furnace temperature of 600-1500 °C, and are used in metallurgy, electronics industry, kiln industry, chemical industry, metal heat treatment, powder metallurgy sintering, ceramics, scientific experiments and other fields. Silicon carbon rods are also used as infrared light sources on instruments, making them ideal for high temperature heating elements.

Note on the use of silicon carbide rods:
1. The cold end of the silicon carbide rod is connected to the main circuit with aluminum crucible or aluminum foil. The clamp at the cold end must be clamped.
2. New furnaces or electric furnaces that are not used for a long time should be oven before use. Old rods or other heat source ovens should be used.
3. The silicon carbide heating rod should be protected from moisture when it is stored. Since the aluminum layer of the cold end portion is easily decomposed and peeled off after being wetted, the contact resistance between the cold end portion and the fixture is increased, and the silicon carbon rod is easily broken after being energized.
4. Silicon carbide rods should be matched before use. Silicon carbon rods with the same or close resistance are connected together.
5. Equipped with a pressure regulating device for the silicon carbide heater. The initial voltage of the power transmission is half of its normal working voltage, and the voltage is gradually increased after a certain period of time. Thus, the silicon carbon rod does not break due to a sharp temperature rise.
6. The silicon carbide heating element rod has a long service life and a short service life for Intermittent use.
